Create an FTP account in cPanel
This article is about to create FTP account in cPanel. You can use the interface FTP accounts to create and manage your website’s File Transfer Protocol (FTP) accounts. FTP allows you to manage your website’s files by default if you already have an FTP in your cPanel. Use your cPanel username and password to log into the cPanel which allows you to create new FTP accounts that can be given as access to other users without giving them your cPanel login credentials. For each additional account created, you can also give each user different levels of access by assigning the user to a specific directory so that you can assign FTP access for the desired directory. To create an FTP account in cPanel, follow the below steps
Step 2: Select the option FTP Accounts under the section Files
Step 4: A successful message for adding an account will be displayed
Step 1Login to cPanel. Use the appropriate username and password to login cPanel.
Step 2 Go to Files Section and select the option FTP Accounts.
In the FTP Account option, you can view “Add FTP Account”.
- You can choose your own name or any words along with the number in login.
- You need to select the domain in the drop-down menu if multiple domains are available under the same cPanel.
- Enter the password in the password field and ensure that the password strength is above 80% for your security reasons. Otherwise, use Password Generator.
- You need to select the directory path which should assign to access through this FTP account. The assigned directory only can access through this FTP account.
Step 3 Crosscheck with all enter details and click “Create FTP Account” button to create the new account.
Step 4 A successful message for adding an account will be displayed.
Step 5 You can view the list of accounts in cPanel “FTP Accounts” and it also provides delete facility of existing accounts. You can also configure your account with other third-party client applications.
