The Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is an XML-based vector image format. Any program such as a Web browser can recognize the XML and can display the image using the information provided in the SVG format. It was developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) since 1999. For the ease of size reduction and enlargement, the SVG allows text within images so that the text can be located by a search engine and can be easily translated into other languages.
