The Intel 1103 was the first commercially available dynamic RAM Integrated Circuit in 1970. DRAM was first invented by Dennard in 1966 and the device was patented in 1968. Intel 1103 was the best selling semiconductor memory chip by the year 1972 which had defeated the magnetic core type memory. Using Intel 1103, the first commercially available computer HP 9800 series was developed.
