The Linux kernel runs on numerous different platforms including the Intel and Alpha platform and is available under the GNU General Public License. blkid is a utility that locates or displays block device attributes (NAME=value pair) such as device or partition name, label, its filesystem type among others. It can be used to find the type of block services on the system.
