The SMS is also called as Short Message Service, is a text messaging service component of most telephone, World Wide Web, and in mobile telephony systems. It uses the standardized communication protocols to enable the mobile phone devices to exchange the short text messages. An intermediary service can facilitate a text-to-voice conversion to be sent to the landlines. The SMS was the most widely used data application, with an estimated 3.5 billion active users, or about an 80% of all mobile phone subscribers, at the end of 2010. The SMSC can send the SMS messages to the destination by using a maximum payload of 140 octets. This defines the upper bound of an SMS message to be 160 characters by using 7-bit encoding method.
