Matlab is a high-performance language for technical computing. It is a numerical computing package developed by Cleve Moler, a mathematician and computer programmer. It allows matrix manipulations, implementation of algorithms, plotting of functions and data. It also creates user interfaces and interfaces with programs in other languages such as C, C++, Java, Fortran, and Python. As of 2017, it has over 2 million users from various backgrounds of engineering, science, and economics.
