JavaScript was first created by Brendan Eich at Netscape in 1995. During development, it was named as Mocha before being named as LiveScript in September 1995 and then it was renamed as JavaScript in the same month. It was renamed as JavaScript after the popularity of Java. JavaScript can be used to control web pages on the client side of the browser, server-side programs, and also even mobile applications. It is based on ECMAScript standard.
