Microsoft Outlook is a stand alone application which is mainly used as an email application. Microsoft Outlook not only provides access to Exchange Server email, but it also includes contact, calendaring and task management functionality. Outlook can be integrated with Microsoft’s SharePoint platform which helps to share documents, project notes, collaborate with colleagues, send reminders and much more.
Kindly follow the below steps to configure outlook mail client:
Hint steps: File– account settings — email accounts opened — choose the account — pop and IMAP settings opened — more settings –advanced
Step 1: Open Outlook and select File.
Step 2: Click Add Account.
Step 3: Check Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.
Step 4: Select POP or IMAP and click Next
Step 5: Find the below settings
Enter Your Name and E-mail Address.
Select IMAP as your account type.
For SSL
For Incoming mail server (IMAP), enter server URL (eg: Mail.yourdomain.com)
For Outgoing mail server (SMTP), enter server URL (eg: Mail.yourdomain.com)
For NON-SSL
For Incoming mail server (IMAP), enter Mail.yourdomain.com
For Outgoing mail server (SMTP), Mail.yourdomain.com
In Logon Information enter the e-mail address and password that you created in the control panel. Then Click More Settings.
Step 6: Select Outgoing Server and check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
Step 7: Select Advanced.
For NON-SSL
For an Incoming server (IMAP) enter 143 and select Non-SSL.
For Outgoing server (SMTP) enter 25 and select Non-SSL
For Root folder path enter INBOX with uppercase letters.
Click OK and then Next.
For SSL
For an Incoming server (IMAP) enter 993 and select SSL.
For an Outgoing server (SMTP) enter 465 and select SSL or 587 in case of TLS.
Click Close.
You have now set up your account in Microsoft Outlook 2013. Click Finish.
