A BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) is placed in a ROM chip found on the motherboards. It is boot firmware program that the computer uses to successfully start operating. It is located on a chip inside the computer and it is designed to protect it from disk failure. It also manages the data flow between the computer’s operating system and the attached devices like printer, keyboard, mouse and hard disk.
