In the first update, the app has seen since, in the year of 2015. The Android Device Manager has been bumped to V2, bringing some much needed visual changes and a new name. The app is now listed as Find My Device by Google Play Protect. The Google might be making some announcements about the app security at the I/O keynote due to kick off shortly. The Android Police’s David Ruddock previously surmised that “Google Play Protect” is an essentially just a rebranding of the app scanning and security measures that Google already has in place to safeguard Android devices.
