Redirects in Plesk:
Domain redirection or Domain forwarding is very simple in Windows Hosting. If you want to redirect a website to show another website, this feature will be helpful to you. Here we are going to show you about forwarding or redirecting a domain to another in Plesk. Follow the below steps.
Domain Forwarding or Domain Redirecting:
Step 1:
Login to your Plesk admin panel.
Step 2:
Navigate to Domains tab and it will show you the list of domains you are having. Select the domain you want to redirect.
Step 3:
Select Hosting Settings to the preferred domain.
Step 4:
On the next window, click the change button next to the hosting type.
Step 5:
Now select the Forwarding option. Enter the URL in the Destination Address Bar to which the domain want to redirect visitors.
Step 6:
Select the forwarding type you want to prefer for the domain, under Forwarding Type option. You can see the three type of options there.
Moved Permanently (301):
This option will show the destination address to the visitors which means the URL redirection will be shown to the visitors in the browser bar.
Moved Temporarily(302):
This option will not show the search engines to index the temporary site. This is also like 301 redirection, where the user knows that the website is redirected to another address.
Frame Forwarding:
Frame Forwarding will not show the URL redirection in the browser’s bar. It means the user will not know that the page is redirected to another address. So the Frame Forwarding will be preferred for domain forwarding or redirecting.
After selecting the forwarding type, click on the OK button to save the settings. Now the domain is successfully redirected to another.
