The first typewriter was commercially invented by Christopher Latham Sholes in 1868. He invented the first practical typewriter with the financial and technical support from his business partners Samuel Soule and Carlos Glidden. Sholes and his associates improved the model similar to today’s typewriters after five years by doing various experiments. It is a mechanical device which produces printed characters in a piece of paper by typing individual keys.
