The first mobile phone was invented by Motorola employee Martin Cooper on April 3, 1973. Motorola released its first commercial mobile phone as the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X in 1983. This handset had offered 30 minutes talk time, six hours standby and could store up to 30 contacts and was sold at a cost of $3995. The first mobile phone weighs about 1.1 kg and measured in 228.6 x 127 x 44.4 mm. Though it weighs high, it was still considered as the most portable telephone.
