The first portable computer was created by a company called Osborne in April 1981, led by a journalist turned entrepreneur named Adam Osborne. Osborne 1 computers are portable, full-featured and include all the components that are required to be completely useful and operational computer system. The components include

  •  Two built-in floppy drives which hold the 91k of data each, with a floppy disk storage compartments
  •  A database full-size keyboard with numeric keypad
  •  A built -in, albeit small, monochrome CRT monitor
  •  Runs the CP/M Operating System, the most popular OS at the time
