EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) is a file extension. It is used for a graphics file in vector-based images in Adobe Illustrator. It may contain 2D vector graphics, bitmap images, and text. These files also include an embedded preview image in bitmap format. EPS files are used to save artwork such as logos and drawings. It also serves as a standard method to transfer image data between different operating systems. These files can be converted to .pdf, .png, .jpf and .tiff with the programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and CorelDraw. The .EPS files can be supported by several vector graphic editing applications and other drawing programs.
