The term GB (gigabyte) is commonly used to mean either 10003 bytes or 10243 bytes. The latter binary usage originated as compromise technical jargon for byte multiples are expressed in a power of 2, but lacked a convenient name. The ‘df’ command is used for displaying the used and available disk space in the system. To display information of all file system statistics in GB (Gigabyte) use the option as ‘df -h‘.
