Backup and Restore Home Directory in cPanel:

This is an article about how you can restore backup files through cPanel. This is only possible if you have the backup file on your computer. At some occasions you may accidentally delete some important files from your website or an email, you don’t worry we can get it back by restoring it from the backup stored in your computer. If you are hosting your website in a good hosting provider then they will keep a daily backup of your website. You can request for the backup files to your hosting provider and they will send it to you. We can’t restore an entire backup via cPanel. We can able to restore partially. To backup and restore the entire directory in cPanel, follow the below steps

Step 1: Login to cPanel

Step 2: Select the option Backup Wizard under the section Files

Step 3: Click the button “Backup” for downloading the backup files

Step 4: Choose the type of backup needed to be downloaded

Step 5: Save the backup file in the computer’s directory

Step 6: Select the button “Restore” for restoring the data

Step 7: Select the type of data to be restored when restoring a particular type

Step 8: To restore a particular file, choose the particular file from the local computer

Step 9: Click the button “Upload” for restoring the file

Step 10: The backup is restored successfully

Step 1 Login to cPanel. You can directly login through your domain URL otherwise you can access your cPanel via server URL.
Step 2 Click Backup wizard under file section. We will upload the backup such as files, email, the database like that only.

Step 3 Under Backup wizard, click “Backup” button for downloading the backup files.

Step 4 You can choose which type of backup is needed (Home directory, MySQL Database and Email forwarders and filters).

Step 5 Save the file in the computer’s directory.

Step 6 Now select the restore button to restore the data.

Step 7 You can choose which type of data is need to be restored (Home directory, MySQL Database and Email forwarders and filters).

Step 8 Select the file from the computer directory to upload. Click the Upload button and that’s it, you have successfully restored the file.

If you want to restore the DNS settings you need to contact your hosting provider and send a request to the entire cPanel account. In this tutorial, you can backup the account and restore the files partially like Database, email filters, files and..etc.
