AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) is the second largest manufacturer of microprocessors after Intel. The also provide integrated circuits for networking devices, flash memory, and programmable logic devices. Athlon (formerly called K7) microprocessor was the first one to support 200 MHz bus which was delivered in mid 1999. It had announced the first 1GHz PC microprocessor in a new version of the Athlon in march 2000.
