AAAA records are similar to the A record and it allows to point the domain to IPv6 address. It is also known as a quad-A record. IPv6 address has 128 bits so AAAA records are also 128 bits. IPv6 consists of 8 sets ranging from 0000 to FFFF so it has a larger address space. Till date the users of IPv6 is small and it is not widely used. IPv6 is not freely available because it provides protocol enhancement for security and many other features. It is represented as eight groups of hexadecimal digits. In these groups, every group represents 16 bits and every group is separated by a colon(:). Here we will show you the steps involved to add AAAA record. The format of AAAA records given below.

To add AAAA record:
There is an interface available in cPanel called Advance Zone Editor which will help you add AAAA record to the DNS settings. Follow the below steps to add AAAA record.
Step 1: Login to your cPanel with username and password.
Step 2: Click on the option “Zone Editor” under the section Domains.
Step 3: On the next page, click on the option ‘Manage’ to handle DNS records for the domain.
Step 4: Select AAAA record type in the drop-down option and then click the button ‘Add AAAA Record’.
Step 5: Now, add the AAAA record by entering the hostname in the name box and TTL(Time to live) value in the TTL box and enter your IPv6 address. If you don’t know about the TTL value then use the default TTL value as 14400.
Step 6: After entering the details, click on “Add Record” button. The AAAA record will be saved in your DNS entries successfully.
